What

We supported the agency in the design of engaging experiences, tailored for specific target. I developed the visual identity of their new website devising a creative concept based on gaming approach.

the challenge

We were asked to create a visually appealing website for millennials to fit business requirements. Millennials are probably the most talked-about generation today, they are the leaders of tomorrow and millennial generation it's very important to promote an effective change management within companies.

team

Andrea Rolando worked on strategy, I worked on systematic study of target users and their requirements, designing the experience and the UI, and then I developed the website and all the animations. Jacopo Ziliotto did a great job in pre-production, working on paper first, elaborating the corporate visual identity, producing all the vectors images realized handling lines and curves.

context analysis

Designing for millennials means being friendly, direct, informal, funny, fast... easy, right? How can you do that talking about business, management and training?

We wanted to create the right balance between the need to appear professional to our competitors and customers, and the need to build a funny and easily remembered experience for our target. We needed to earn the millennial loyalty preventing the risk of appearing unreliable.

target

Millennial loyalty is not easy at all to be earned. Our website needed to be engineered to be simple and intuitive. They are looking for a mobile-friendly experience so we needed to think about a mobile-first approach for our webdesign. At the same time we wanted our communication to be effective and fast. I decided to build animations to impress them with eye-catching elements. We needed to work on high-performance animations that work in every major browser, and I choose to work using gsap.

Designing the homepage

The homepage is considered as most important part of the whole site. The homepage should be able to set-up the key elements, we needed to attract appropriate and potential visitors telling them everything they need to know about "what we do" and "who we are".

We wanted to make our home page as welcoming as possible, establish trust and credibility, but millennials don't visit homepages and they usually are attracted to websites from social media.

We hardly worked on feelings, to communicate quality and visual pleasing, and that idea morphed into a broader platform for visual communication.

We chose to create an horizontal interactive slide to build a scenario for every key element. And we tried, we iterated, and we tried again...

Design

Thanks to insights and findings we collected from research we knew we needed to value the human factor of the professional team, and the services provided by the agency.

We faced two main issues:
1 | Secrecy was one of the most important factors of the Swiss banking history. We were fully conscious of the importance of the non-disclosure agreement with clients and partners. We needed to value the professional job-history and know-how of this team but we could't mention clients and partners.
2 | The communication tailored for our target needed to be fast, informal, immediate, but now we needed to give information in a descriptive page.

process page

In order to engage customers and enhance the credibility of Nyaliswiss professional team we chose to focus on telling the process of tailor-made solutions they provide. We created an horizontal scroll carousel, characterized by animated images. Here two images of the prototype and the definitive solution.

about page

We created a mobile-first vertical descriptive page with elements animation based on scroll position. Every element appear on scroll in a smooth mode, from right to the left, to facilitate the reading and to encourage users to scroll down.

The text was still too detailed and long to read, we needed to think about a visual element to rest visitors eyes. We built an aquarium, as you can see in the featured animated image on then top, to create calmness and serenity.
